Lisa Grainger

Lisa Grainger was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, in 1964, and studied journalism at Rhodes University, Grahamstown, before embarking on her career at The Star in Johannesburg. She has lived in London for the past 20 years, working as a full-time journalist and editor for The Times and The Sunday Times and as features director for Elle. Having left full-time employment to write this Stories Gogo Told Me, she now freelances as a writer from London, on a range subjects from African politics and French fashion to Scandinavian design.
