It’s an interesting concept. Based loosely around the thinking of the ‘Broken Windows’ programmes that cleaned up New York in the early 90s, the folks at Stop Crime, Say Hello argue that by greeting people, treating your staff and colleagues with respect, and living a more upright, open life should connect you more with those around you and hopefully decrease crime levels. It certainly makes sense on a visceral level and dovetails neatly with the issues of self respect needed to get broad-based environmental programmes off the ground. Every little bit helps.

I salute you Simon. I would like to discuss with you the possibility of selling BushBloks in SA. These Bushbloks are made from harvested thorn bushes in Namibia and help to conserve the cheetah. As you might know that Namibia is the Cheetah Capital of the World and there is a great drive to conserve these animals and by doing this we can use these Bushbloks instead of burning coal. They can be used especially in the townships. They are sold all over Namibia. Perhaps the CO2 into the air is less than if burning coal. Perhaps I should find out more about that aspect. I look forward to hearing from you shortly.

Simon i agree with you,in particular with the cleaning up of crime. i am working on a very exciting project at the moment for our country in SA, that spells “a green country” ie that includes government, aids organization, widows and orphans, each and every resident in each and every community, security companies and police, churches, to send out one message with one voice and that is we want our beautiful country to remain green ie safe, prosperous and lush for all to live, visit and reside. once i have got it all together, would it be in order to contact you and set up some time to get this into place. it is a massive project and it needs all with a similar vision to stand together. carol van zyl
