Penguin authors Malcom Gladwell (Blink, The Tipping Point, Outliers) and Shaun Tomson (Surfer’s Code: 12 Simple Lessons for Riding Through Life) will be amongst the guest speakers at The Discovery Invest Leadership Summit.

Malcolm Gladwell, who was named one of TIME magazine’s most influential people in 2005, is known for his innovative and sometimes provocative approach to business.

Gladwell’s ability to interpret new ideas and concepts from the social sciences into practical and understandable business principles is what he is perhaps best known for.

His latest book Outliers promises to have an even bigger impact on the business world as well as society in general. Outliers explores what it is that makes a person an extreme over- achiever. Gladwell suggests that rather than study the behavioural patterns of successful people, one should rather look at the environment from which they come which includes their culture, family and generation.

Shaun Tomson, best known as a World Champion surfer, is amongst the 25 most influential surfers in the world and is considered one of the 16 greatest surfers of all time.

Tomson is an inspirational speaker, entrepreneur, environmentalist and bestselling author. His book Surfer’s Code: 12 Simple Lessons for Riding Through Life due to be released on the 1st July 2009 speaks about how to use lessons learnt through surfing, in everyday life situations. Tomson’s book highlights how surfing principles and teachings can help people conquer life’s challenges.
