Valentine Warner, author of the incredibly successful What to Eat Now is back this summer. In What to Eat Now – More Please!, Valentine follows up his highly successful first book and acclaimed TV series What To Eat Now, with a new volume that explores the best ingredients our summer season has to offer. In Valentine’s eyes summer cooking is all about lighter dishes and fabulous natural pairings.
In What to Eat Now – More Please!, Valentine will take us on another unique journey, seeking out the seasonal bounty that the sunshine brings. Beef, guinea fowl, sea bass, sardines, peas, tomatoes, courgettes, raspberries and blackcurrants are some of the ingredients explored. The book features over 100 tasty recipes, including simple dishes such as Coconut Lamb and Sardines with Tapenade; braai dishes such as Beef Bavette Steak with anchovies, red wine and garlic; and summer puddings such as Peach and Almond Tart and Blackcurrant cream.
The pages are packed with Valentine’s delicious words, quirky stories and hilarious anecdotes which bring a smile to your face and a rumble to your stomach. Alongside are photographs by Howard Sooley and Valentine’s own enchanting illustrations, which together fill the pages with vivid and fresh images and make us yearn for the summers of our childhood, as well as lashings of lemonade.
Valentine Warner is a culinary adventurer. He spent five years working under chefs such as Alastair Little and Rose Carrarini before setting up a private catering company. A natural born fidget, Valentine always finds a cure for his restlessness at home in the kitchen. Val’s first book is called, not surprisingly What to Eat Now.
